HARD TO DESCRIBE. EASY TO FEEL.

You'll understand it the moment you sit down.

Words undersell this one — but here's what tends to happen.

A single bell or bugle calls the table to sit — the night starts before the first plate does.

The story of the region gets told once, before a single bite, so nothing after needs explaining.

Wine poured to match a course you haven't tasted yet — you'll be told exactly why once it lands.

Music picked for the region — low enough to talk over, present enough that you'll still hear it in your head the next day.

Sometimes a riddle folded into your placecard. Sometimes a hand-drawn map passed hand to hand. Never the same trick twice.

A toast that closes the night the same way it opened — and a small recipe card to take home, so the evening doesn't just end when you leave.

Nobody walks in already knowing the ritual — that's the fun part. You learn it in the room, at the table, glass in hand.

We don't advertise wff much. Most people hear about the next table from someone who was already at the last one.

PROOF, NOT PROMISES

A Friulian Summer Table

Cucina povera from Friuli-Venezia Giulia — the 2,000-year-old crossroads where Rome, Venice, and the Alps never agreed on a border, but agreed on a plate. Cheese lotteries, mountain peddlers, and a grape once considered legally extinct.

Piedmont: Truffle Season

Built around white truffle season and the birthplace of the Slow Food movement. Real truffle, real wine, and a story you won't find anywhere else in Colorado Springs.

GOOD TO KNOW

Where is this?

It's a private home in Colorado Springs. The address is sent by email once you book.

Is there a dress code?

Yes. And lean into it. We ask for elevated evening attire: think dinner party, not date night, no jeans or sneakers. If you're wondering whether you're overdressed, you're not. This is a seated, storytold evening, and the room should feel like it.

How long does it run?

Plan on three-plus hours. No one's rushed out the door — this is a whole evening, not a quick dinner.

Can you accommodate dietary restrictions?

Yes. Note them at checkout and we'll take care of it.

What's your cancellation policy?

Refundable up to 7 days before the event; non-refundable inside that window.

What actually happens at one of these dinners?

You'll move through five courses and wine pairings, and before each one lands, we'll tell you its story - where the dish comes from, who first made it and why, what's in your glass and how it found its way to that plate. Nothing about the evening is rushed.

Can I come alone, or with a group?

Solo guests and larger parties are seated at the same communal table alongside couples. Part of the evening is the company you didn't expect to keep.

I don't know anyone else coming - is that weird?

No. Most guests don't. Eight strangers at one table, telling stories and passing plates for three hours, tends to solve that fast. That's most of the point.

Who is Barbara?

Barbara grew up in a small German town where a Roman road ran through the backyard and regional history wasn't just a subject in school. She's spent the years since chasing that same feeling at the table: food and wine that tell you exactly where you are, without anyone having to explain it.

Seats are limited to eight. They don't come back around.

Once a month, one region, gone when it's gone.
