The short version

A 50% deposit holds your date. It's non-refundable.
Move your dinner free within three months of booking, or give your seats to someone else.
Cancel inside seven days and you lose the deposit, plus only what I've already spent on your dinner.
I don't buy, sell, or pour wine. You do.
Tell me every allergy. I never guess.

The full terms follow. By booking, you agree to them.

1. Who I am

These terms are between you ("the host") and the Sovereign Table, LLC ("Sovereign Table," "I").

2. What you get

A private five-course dinner, cooked by me in your home, built around one region of Europe, with a story before each course, a wine list for your menu, and a printed recipe booklet.

Dinner Series: my monthly region and menu.
Custom Table: a region you choose, quoted individually, with up to two menu revisions and no design fee.

I work as a private chef in your home. I don't operate a restaurant, and I hold no food or liquor license. I hold a ServSafe certification.

3. Booking and seats

Up to ten seats, you included. Dinner Series needs at least two weeks' notice; Custom Table needs at least one month. Dinners take place in private residences. Your booking is confirmed when I receive your deposit and your Host Confirmation form.

I may cancel or refuse a booking at my discretion, for example if payment is not received, safety is a concern, or these terms are not followed. In that case I will explain why and, where appropriate, refund any amounts due.

4. Price

Dinner Series: $900 for up to six seats, then $150 for each additional seat, up to ten.
Custom Table: quoted individually, in writing, before you book.
Prices include applicable tax.
Travel: free within 25 miles of Colorado Springs, $100 flat up to 75 miles, quoted per event beyond that.
Gratuity is optional and never required.
Rentals and breakage: you pay for rentals you request and for breakage, unless I caused it.

5. Deposit, payment, rescheduling

A 50% deposit is due at booking and is non-refundable.
The balance and your final seat count are due seven days before dinner. If the balance is late, I'll send a written reminder and allow 48 hours before I may cancel and keep the deposit.
Reschedule free to a new date, or transfer your seats to another person, within three months of your booking date. Requests outside that window forfeit the deposit.

6. Cancelling inside seven days

You lose the deposit. From the balance, I keep only what I've already spent on your dinner, such as groceries, rentals, and printing, up to the amount of the balance. If you've paid the balance, I refund the rest within 14 days. Receipts on request. A reschedule request inside seven days counts as a cancellation, except under sections 7 and 8.

7. If someone is ill

At your home: if you or someone in your household is ill, you get one free reschedule, even inside seven days, if you tell me at least 24 hours before I arrive. The new date must fall within three months of the postponed date.
A guest: your count stays locked. The seat and the meal are yours, and you can swap in another guest.
Me: if I'm ill, I reschedule at no cost or refund everything you've paid. Your choice.

8. Weather and utilities

I rely on official signals: a National Weather Service Winter Storm or Blizzard Warning, a CDOT closure on my route, an evacuation notice for your home or route, or smoke or fire that makes travel or cooking unsafe. I decide up to four hours before I arrive. The reschedule is free, your payments carry over, and the three-month window restarts from the postponed date. If your home has no power, water, or working stove when I arrive, the same applies. Guests who simply choose not to come because of weather don't trigger this.

9. Wine and alcohol

I advise. I choose a pairing for every course and give you the list in three tiers (Reserve, Curated, and Trader Joe's). I don't buy, sell, transport, or pour alcohol, and I take no commission or discount from any retailer. You buy and pour the wine, and you're responsible for serving only adults of legal age and for your guests' safety.

10. Allergies and dietary needs

Tell me about every guest, up front, on your Host Confirmation form. I plan around everything I'm told. I cook in a home kitchen, so I can't guarantee a dish is free of an allergen. For severe allergies, pregnancy, or weakened immunity, tell me before you book. I'm not responsible for a condition I wasn't told about, to the extent the law allows.

11. Your home

Provide a working kitchen, a table and seating for everyone, safe access, and any building or HOA approval. Please secure pets away from cooking and dining areas. I leave your kitchen as I found it.

12. Guests

Guests must be 18 or older. Guests must be 21 or older for alcohol, and for the cigar ritual.

13. Photos

No photos or names are used on my website or social media without your consent. Tell me beforehand if you'd rather not be photographed.

14. Stories, menus and recipes

All text, stories, menus, maps, images and designs on this site are owned by Sovereign Table, LLC and may not be copied or reused without written permission.

15. Additional services

The Sovereign Invitation and the After-Dinner Ritual are quoted and agreed separately.

16. Liability

I hold a ServSafe certification. I carry $1 million in general liability insurance and will send you the certificate on request. To the fullest extent allowed by law, Sovereign Table, LLC is not liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from use of this site or your dinner, beyond the amounts you have paid for the booking.

17. This website and your information

Use of this site is subject to the [Privacy Policy]. Information you give me is used to plan your dinner and is not sold.

18. Law, changes, and contact

Colorado law governs. I may update these terms; the version in effect when you booked applies to your booking. If you have questions about these terms, email barbara@sovereigntable.com.

19. Use of this site

You agree not to misuse this site, including trying to hack it, send spam, scrape content, or upload harmful code or files.
